A Word from Mel
People often "see" different things. I aim to represent what I perceive and to share it with others.
As a child I spent many hours living and playing in remote parts of Australia. I'm sure that this experience fed into my desire to paint landscapes. I love observing patterns within nature, listening to the sounds and soaking up the smells. Wide open spaces are invigorating and dark clouds fill me with a sense of anticipation.

I love to watch the changes in the landscape with the seasons, and I find the way that the land can spring back after droughts or floods is mesmerising.
I hope that my works can convey my sentiments and love for the Australian outback and for nature in general. And also my love for colour and paint!
